'1i' Meet the new pastor! Make plans to drop in and meet our new pastor and his family today in Fellowship Hall. In order to make it a little easier for them to meet us without overwhelming them, we are asking that families use the following schedule to come by: Those whose last names begin with A-H, please plan to attend at 1:30 p.m., I-P attend at 2:15 p.m. and those whose last names begin with Q-Z, attend at 3 :00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.

'1i' A Business Meeting for Salem Campmeeting will be today at 4:00 p.m. in the Crusader's classroom. Everyone is invited to come and share their ideas and comments about the Campmeeting experience. This is also the meeting when officers are elected. Be sure to attend if you wish to help keep this Salem tradition going strong.

'1i' Everyone is welcome to join the Aerobics class on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week at 5 :30 p.m. All levels of fitness are welcome to join them in Fellowship HalL

'1i' A Trustees Meeting will be Tuesday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Kaneraiser's classroom. Please try to attend if you are on this committee. .

'1i' The Bells will be meeting on Wednesdays beginning July 2 at 10:00 a.m. Come check it out or talk with Pat Laster if you would like to join them. .

'1i' If you are in the 6th through 12th grade, plan to join the Youth on Wednesday, July 2 at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship HalL Bring a friend! They meet every Wednesday.

'1i' Remember the Praise Team is practicing now on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Come join them. You don't have to know how to read music, just love to sing and praise the Lord! The Praise band meets at 7:30 each Wednesday.

'1i' If you are interested in Biblical Prophecy, be sure to check out the Bible Study in Open Door classroom. They meet at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and have a wide range of ages that join them each week. Everyone is welcome.

'1i' The office will closed on Friday, July 4 for Independence Day.

'1i' Our CJCOHN Workday is on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:00 a.m. at their location in Benton at 103 East Elm Street. They volunteers for everything from paperwork to organizing and sorting.

1'Ii' A Finance Committee Meeting will be on Thursday, July 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the Kaneraiser's classroom. Please plan to attend or contact Bill Shirron at 776-7450 if you can not attend.

'Ii' The Administrative Council Meeting will be Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Remember to bring a short written report about your ministry area. If you can not attend the meeting, please call Larry Wert_nberger at 794-3808 or send your report with someone.

'Ii' Attention all Pirates ages 3 thru 5th grade! Mark you calendars for Vacation Bible School, "The Big Adventure", Monday, July 21 thru Friday, July 25. Each day the fun will begin at 9:00 a.m. and wrap up around noon. Volunteers are still needed, contact Jenny Johnston at 778-2883.

'Ii' Remember the Layette Kits for UMCOR. A complete list is in the Media Room. For the month of July, please bring Receiving Blankets. You may put the items ,in the Playpen in the Narthex.

Iii' The Pictorial History of Salem UMC and Camp Meeting through 2000 is completed. It is 289 pages of black and white pictures, printed on 24# acid-tree photo paper, beginning with a 1908 . picture of the previous camp meeting arbor. Cost per book is $20.00. 'Ii' We are needing volunteers to help in the sound booth, especially for second service. You will receive instruction about all of the equipment and if several volunteer, we can set up a rotation schedule so that everyone can have a regular break to worship with their families. We have a couple of people willing to help one Sunday a month but no one for the rest of the month. Please contact Mike Green or call the office (316-2282) if you are interested.

'Ii' The Salem travelers are planning a trip to the Holy Land in April of 2009. This trip will be led by Siegfried Johnson, a UMC pastor, guaranteed to be fun and educational for all. If you are interested, please contact Jolene Welch (501-794-2942) for more info.
